• Shake hand before and after each game

• Focus on your game - do not look at or interfere with the games around you

• Touch move, touch take

• Record your game

• Take your time, do not rush through your moves

• Use proper chess clock protocol

  • Ensure the lights and sounds of the clock are turned off

  • Touch your clock with the same hand used to move your chess piece

• Ensure the chess board is set up properly

  • King and queen on correct squares

  • White pieces on 1st and 2nd ranks, black on 7th and 8th ranks
